Service
Local SEO for contractors
Local SEO is the work that makes Google show your business when someone nearby searches for what you do. Most of it is unglamorous: identical listings everywhere, real reviews, pages that answer real searches, and a profile Google can see is active.

Two places you can show up
The map pack and the regular results
The map pack
The three listings under the map. Google picks them by distance from the searcher, review count and recency, the categories on the profile, and how active the listing looks. For a one-truck shop this is where the first calls come from. It starts moving as the first ten reviews arrive.
The regular results
The blue links under the map pack. Google picks them by whether a page on your site actually answers the search ("furnace repair in Hurricane, UT"), how fast it loads on a phone, and whether other local sites link to it. One good page per service and per town, added to monthly, is what wins here.
At launch
Set up once, correctly
Every listing gets the same name, phone, and website, character for character. Mismatches are the most common reason a trade business sits on page two.
- Search engines
- Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools verified, sitemap submitted, every page indexed. Bing feeds DuckDuckGo and Siri.
- Maps
- Apple Business Connect, so iPhone users who search in Apple Maps find you too. Bing Places, imported from the Google profile.
- Directories
- Yelp, Facebook business page, Nextdoor Business, BBB, Angi (free listing only), and the local chamber if you join it.
- Trade-specific
- Manufacturer dealer locators, supply-house directories, and the state licensing board lookup for your trade.
- Duplicates
- Old listings at a previous address or with a wrong phone get merged or closed, so Google stops splitting your reviews between two profiles.
Every month
The work that keeps it moving
- One new page
- Aimed at a search people in your area actually make, timed to the season: a fall furnace check page in September, a sump pump page before spring runoff, an EV charger page when the rebate opens.
- Review follow-through
- We watch for new reviews, draft the reply for you to approve, and remind you to send the review text after jobs. Reviews with a few sentences in them count for more than star-only ones.
- Search Console check
- Which searches showed your site, which pages got clicks, and anything Google flagged. It feeds the next month's page.
- Listing drift
- Quarterly spot-check of every directory for a changed phone, a merged duplicate, or a wrong category.
Walkthrough
Local SEO, month by month
Local SEO is mostly maintenance. Here is what the work actually is, in order, so you can see what the monthly fee pays for.
- 1Month 1: the audit and the cleanup
We pull every listing that mentions your business, including the ones you forgot about, and fix the name, address, phone, and website so they match character for character. Duplicate Google listings get merged or closed. Search Console and the analytics are connected so we can see which searches are already bringing people in.
- 2Month 1: categories, services, and photos on the listing
The primary category is set to the search you most want to win ("plumber," not "contractor"). Secondary categories are added for each real service. Services are listed with a sentence each. Ten to twenty real photos go up: the truck, the owner, finished work, not stock images.
- 3Month 2: the first town pages
A page for each town you drive to, with something true about it: the age of the homes, the water, the climate, what breaks there. Each one links to your service pages and carries your number and hours. These are the pages that show up for "furnace repair Hurricane UT" style searches.
- 4Every month: reviews, posts, and one new page
The review request after every job keeps the listing fresh. A short Google post goes up every couple of weeks with a real job photo. One new page is written: a service you had not covered, a town you added, or a question homeowners keep asking you.
- 5Every month: the report
Calls from the listing, direction requests, website visits from the map pack and from regular results, and your ranking for the handful of searches that matter in your town. Plain numbers, one page, no jargon.
Southern Utah
Local to Washington County, available anywhere
Our home market is Washington County, Utah. Local SEO here has a specific shape: a fast-growing county with a lot of new construction, snowbird neighborhoods that empty in summer, and a handful of franchise call centers competing against dozens of one-truck shops. The Southern Utah page covers what that means for your listing.
Questions
Local SEO, answered
Do you guarantee the top spot?
No, and we would be suspicious of anyone who does. We guarantee the work on the list above, a monthly report, and the first 90 days: if the leads are not coming in, they are fully refundable. After that you can cancel with 30 days' notice.
Would a call-tracking number help me measure it?
It hurts more than it helps. A second number on the listing or the site breaks the name-and-phone match Google relies on, and the listing can drop. The report counts calls from the Business Profile's own call button instead.
How much do reviews matter?
More than anything else on this page for the map pack. Ten real reviews with a sentence or two in each is the single biggest move a new listing can make. We give you the link and the text, and we remind you to send it.
I have three locations. Can you do this?
We work with owner-operated shops, usually one to five trucks and one service area. A multi-location franchise needs a different setup, and we would tell you that on the first call.
How long until I see results?
Map pack movement usually shows in four to eight weeks once the listing is clean and reviews start arriving. Regular (organic) results for your service pages take three to six months. The report tracks both so you can see the curve.
Do I need a blog?
Not a blog in the sense of weekly articles. You need one new, useful page a month: a service, a town, or an honest answer to a question homeowners ask you. That is enough to keep the site growing and it is what we write.
What about Yelp, Angi, and the lead sites?
We claim and clean the free listings on Yelp, Apple Maps, Bing Places, and Nextdoor because they feed the data Google checks. We do not recommend paying the lead-marketplace sites; the whole point here is that the calls come to your number and your listing, not to a shared queue.
